Project Summary

About the Project

The technical and career workforce must not only comprehend AI technology but also identify innovative ways to leverage this technology to enhance their job performance while providing greater value to their businesses. Building on previous partnerships and success with the Cybersecurity Across Disciplines (CyAD) Conference, Moraine Valley Community College (MVCC) proposes a three-year, comprehensive project to meet labor market demand for workers with artificial intelligence (AI) aptitude.

While other projects have focused on developing and implementing AI curriculum in computer science, this NSF ATE program is specifically designed to prepare graduates of two-year institutions pursuing career and technical jobs. The purpose of this project is to change the perception and utilization of AI as a tool in the classroom which can then be leveraged to strengthen the AI tools of candidates entering the workforce.

National AI Teachers & Learning Academy

An extension of the NCyTE Center providing open-source content and a CTE learning community. Each summer, the academy trains over 100 faculty through five virtual workshops and the annual CyAD Conference.

Goal One โ€” Produce Interactive Instructional Materials

Faculty Development Objectives

  • Collaboration and Networking: Faculty members will work closely with their peers, sharing ideas and experiences to develop innovative approaches to teaching and using AI.
  • Hands-On Learning: Participants will engage in practical workshops that explore the latest AI technologies and their applications in education.
  • Content Creation: Faculty will collaborate to create new teaching and learning materials that can be utilized in their own classrooms and programs.
  • Professional Development: The camps will provide opportunities for faculty to enhance their pedagogical skills and stay current with advancements in AI.
